What Is Client Development Coaching And How You Can Evaluate Your Coach

Developing the Next Generation of Rainmakers What is Client Development Coaching and How You Can Evaluate Your Coach I recently started coaching a new group of lawyers. I tried to share with them what client development coaching is and how they can evaluate me. If your firm is thinking about a client development coaching program, this will help your leaders and lawyers understand what it is and how you can evaluate your coach. What is client development coaching? First, let me share with you that it isn’t giving you all the answers or my magic secret to getting clients. It isn’t trying to convince you that the way I was successful will work for you. Coaching is helping you see where you are, where you want to be and finding ways to get there that will work for you. ARIA stands for Awareness, Reflection, Insight and Action. If I can really get to know you and help you with ARIA, then our work together will be a win for you. I love this Judy Garland quote: Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else. Our goal working together is to move you to be the first rate version of yourself. Listen as Anne Marie O’Brien, a partner I am coaching explains What Is Coaching. So, with that background, here is a short list of how you can evaluate me: Even if I am not coaching you, and you will not be part of a coaching program, I want to engage you in these blog posts with some of the things listed above.   I practiced law for 37 years developing a national construction law practice representing some of the top highway and transportation construction contractors in the US.
